Bird’s Eye Review: 30 Day Vegan Challenge by Colleen Patrick-Goudreau

If you’re not yet vegan and not sure where to start, the 30 Day Vegan Challenge is a great introduction as it gives you all the advice you could possibly need. Based on the widely proven fact, that is takes approximately 21 days to start a new habit, Colleen gives you a little more time in the form of 30 days, in order to give you all the information you need to succeed on your journey. It answers questions such as what are the best sources of nutrients and how to bake without eggs.  It also features great recipes and most importantly, in my opinion, gives lots of advice on the social aspects of being vegan.

I also loved the chapter on how to stock a vegan cupboard. A great tool to use when creating your first vegan shopping list or to give ideas to existing vegans. As well as tons of information on foods to stock up on and ideas for each meal of the day,  Colleen, author of 7 vegan cook books has included lots of incredibly yummy looking recipes such as Vegetable Pot Pie (shown above), Lemon Poppy Seed Muffins, Baked Oatmeal, Herbed Cashew Cheese and the amazing looking Mexican chocolate cake (see below).

More handy hints come in the form of how to get by in non vegan restaurants and finding food options whilst travelling. So many great tips to use in every scenario you can think of. This is a great guide for vegans and non-vegans alike.
