Bird’s Eye Review: The Vegan Kind January

IMG_1156

This month’s The Vegan Kind box combines on the go snacks and breakfast ideas with a great home cleaning product and a possible baking solution? Here’s my review:

Hectares Sweet Potato Crisps Sea Salt and Black Pepper 35g (RRP £1)

I have actually reviewed these Hectare’s crisps previously on my blog (https://londonveganbird.com/2014/08/18/birds-eye-review-vegan-sweet-hectare-crisps/).  I love Sweet Potato and particularly enjoy these dipped in hummus. Mmm…www.hectares-sweetpotatocrisps.co.uk | @HectaresCrisps

Always looking for quick and easy breakfast ideas, this on-the-go breakfast pot is great for when you’re in a rush or even travelling.  I had the Power of Brown Superfood Cereal Pot which contained Oats, Lucuma, Hemp Seeds, Maca Powder, Coconut Blossom Nectar, Banana Flakes and Cacoa powder.  You can taste the healthy, good ingredients and although the flavour didn’t blow me away, it was tasty and I’d be interested to try the other flavours. www.otesuperfoods.com  | @OTEsuperfoods

I’ve yet to try these soap nuts but were introduced to Green Frog products in a previous The Vegan Kind box.  These offer a sustainable, eco-friendly way of doing your washing and I’m looking forward to trying them. greenfrogsoap.co.uk  | @GreenfrogUK

As you may know, I’m no stranger to Pulsin’ products and am a fan of their other Raw Brownie flavours.  The Raspberry and Goji berry variety is also pretty yummy. More of a fruity flavour then the others, another good pre and post-workout snack option. www.pulsin.co.uk  | @pulsinandbeond

I’m obviously a little behind on trying out the products this month as I’ve also not had the chance to try this 100% Fruit Puree from Clearspring.  However, it is great to see a brand offering a no sugar variety of purees as I use them in my baking recipes.  Stay tuned for a recipe soon. www.clearspring.co.uk  | @clearspringfood

Another brand I have reviewed before , these bars are great when feeling a little peckish.  They are a lot cleaner tasting then some of the other snack bars out there.  I particularly like the Tropical Treat flavour as you can taste the coconut which balances out the sweetness of the fruit.
