Bird’s Eye Review and Giveaway: Howdah snacks

I have something new and exciting coming to the blog this week.  My very first competition.  Those very kind people at Howdah have sent me a selection of their vegan and gluten free Gourmet Indian snacks to try as well as a box of 6 flavours to give-away.

The products have been inspired by Indian traditions and culture and the range stems from the founder, Falu Shah’s love for food and the Indian family’s sharing culture. I love the fact that the snacks are made from recipes that have been handed down for generations. Such a nice tradition.

I first tried the Onion Bhaji flavour in my October Vegan Kind Box and really enjoyed the cleaner taste to them. A delicious alternative to your standard greasy crisp.

Howdah-Masala-Banana-Chips-smlI was surprised by both the Masala and Peppered Banana Chips as I was unsure about the combination of the savoury spices with the sweet banana but actually these were rather nice.   The Masala flavour had a real spicy tang and you could not taste the sweetness of the fruit.

The Peanut Pakoras are a great snack for sharing with guests, much like all of these bags and went down well with some recent dinner guests.  They have a good spicy kick and are satisfyingly crunchy.

Howdah’s Bakarwadi Bites were also a new flavour combination for me.  These are small, savoury pastries filled with a blend of spices. They will want you coming back for more.

unnamedAll you have to do to win this fantastic prize is to  comment below and like the post on my Facebook page (London Vegan Bird). I will pick the winner on 2nd January 2015 and the goodies will be sent out the w/c 5th January 2015.  Good luck!

Thanks for reading.
