Bird’s Eye Review: The Vegan Kind August

Hooray! Finally a The Vegan Kind box review in the month I actually received it.  Yay me!  And it’s an excellent one!  Here’s the rundown:

Propercorn Sweet and Salty Popcorn 30g (RRP £0.80)

I don’t have to be watching a movie to enjoy a bag of popcorn as I absolutely love it on any occasion.  In particular, I love the combination of Sweet and Salty so this Propercorn bag is right up my street.  A great lower calorie snack that is satisfying and fun to eat too.

Pulsin’ Vanilla Choc Chip Protein Bar (RRP £1.79)

By now, you should know I’m a fan of Pulsin products and this is already a favourite with me.  Creamy and not unlike fudge, I love the chocolate chips which make it feel like a naughty treat.  It is quite high in calories so I would bare that in mind but is great pre and post workout.

IMG_0578Living Naturally Soapnut Tabs 265g (20 washes) (RRP £6.49)

A very intriguing product.  This is the world’s first soap nut powder. What are soap nuts?  I had no idea either.  On further investigation, I found out that they are the dried shells or husks from the soapberry tree.  Thus, making these an organic and natural way to do your laundry.  I tried these today and were super easy to use. I just put them straight in with my washing and they worked brilliantly!  Will definitely repurchase.

Freedom Mallows Strawberry 75g (RRP £2.50)

So incredibly moorish, I had to stop myself from eating the whole bag in one sitting.  Strawberry or Original? Who cares?  They are both amazing.  The only thing that is not amazing is the price for such a small bag.  Still wonderful though.

Nothing But Red Pepper and Mangetout Snack 20g (RRP £1.20)

Really liked the idea of this snack; Freeze dried red peppers and mange tout.  Super low in calories and count towards your five a day.  However, I just didn’t like them.  The mange tout especially has a strange after taste.  Not a fan. I’m afraid.

Teen VGN Fuelled By Compassion Wrist Band (Bonus Item) (RRP £1.20)

If you haven’t heard of TeenVGN then go over to her website and check her out.  She is doing great work spreading the vegan word, connecting with and inspiring young vegans.
