The Vegan Kind July Review

What a surprise, another really late ‘The Vegan Kind’ box review.  Must work on that but I do like to try the products before I blog about them.  Here’s my review:

Vego Chocolate Bar 150g (RRP £3.50)

One word – wowzers!  I’ve been a bit late to this vegan train but so glad I got on board.  Rich, creamy chocolate combined with the taste of hazelnuts. An indulgent treat, one which I plan to repeat again soon. The current holy grail of vegan chocolate. Let’s hope they get some more stockists please.  | /vegochocolate

Heavenly Organics ‘Just Add Water’ Shampoo 30g (RRP £2.40)

I really wanted to love this product but unfortunately, I was disappointed.  I shook a little into my hand to mix with water but it did not form into a paste as was instructed. I massaged it into my hair but it had quite a grainy consistency and did not lather up so felt like I had to wash my hair again with another product.  I will persevere as perhaps I was doing something wrong, but on the whole, I was quite underwhelmed.  | @heavenlyskin

Coconut Organics CocoBacon (RRP £2.35)

There’s been a lot of hype about Coconut Bacon and was keen to try it for myself (pre my Raw Imagination BLT sandwich experience).  CocoBacon is made from lightly toasted organic coconut chips that have a sweet, smoky flavour.  My boyfriend wanted to do something special with it so made a vegan mac n’ cheese which was excellent.  I’ve also used it to sprinkle over salads for a bit of extra texture and flavour.  | @CoconutBacon

Squeeze Juice Café Wheatgrass Juice 30ml (RRP £2)

Err…yeah…not my favourite product from my box, I have to say.  In fact, the taste of this is pretty disgusting but I do like the health benefits – it works to clear toxins from your body and contains over 90 minerals.  Even with all that though, I can’t say I will be repeating the experience.  | @squeezejuice

Vita Coco Coconut Water 500ml (RRP £2.50)

More coconut goodness and of course, most of you will know this brand of Coconut Water from Vita Coco.  Refreshing, tasty, great post work-out and contains all sorts of nutrients, potassium and other good stuff.  | @vitacoco

Frank Bar – Strawberry and Chocolate Flavour (RRP £1)

You may have noticed that this product does not feature in my photographs and that is because my boyfriend ate this before I could even get to it.  Which surely, must be a good sign.  However, he did make up for it by buying me a whole box.  Check out my blog post review. . Suffice to say, they’re delicious and I look forward to trying all of their flavours.  | @FrankBars

I’ve seen the Vego chocolate bar in Peppercorns in West Hampstead but wasn’t sure if it was worth trying. After reading your review I think I will give it a go.
I’ve not seen the coconut bacon but I’ll definitely look out for it now. Thanks for directing me to some new vegan products 🙂
