London Vegan Bird Food: Protein Peanut Butter Bites


I found myself buying a lot of protein and snack bars and so decided to start making my own to save some money and also to know exactly what goes in them.

Based on a recipe from the Tone It Up website (find it here,  I have made this recipe quite a lot over the last few months. They’re tasty and it almost feels like a treat.  Great to have pre and post workout as a protein boost.



1/3 cup of Agave Nectar or Maple Syrup

1/2 cup of almond milk. Coconut Milk or Non dairy milk of your choice

3-4 Tbs Cacao/Cocoa Powder

1/2 cup Peanut Butter

2 cups of oats

1 Tbs Protein Powder (I use Pulsin Pea Protein)


Heat Agave, non dairy milk and cocoa powder in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until it comes to a boil.

Add the peanut butter, oats and protein powder and continue to mix.

Form mixture into cookies, balls or bites. Place on greaseproof paper and refrigerate until set.
